Artist's Description
I used the sepia tones to make it look like the old photograph I was using as reference. He is my great grandfather. I think he kind-of looks like Indiana Jones in this pose.
About Cory Calantropio
I'm a mostly self-taught artist, currently residing in Humboldt County, CA. My works are mostly done in watercolor but vary in styles from photo-realism to abstract. Some of my sea life themed works are influenced by having spent 5 years living in the San Juan Islands, WA. I have not had a prolific, nor successful art career, but I envision that all changing in next couple years. I intend to use Fine Art America as the means to offer prints of my work. If you'd like to see a broader representation of my art, I invite you to look up the user name coryart on youtube and see the video "Some of my Watercolor Art over the years".

Dear Cory, I have missed a lot by not visiting your artsite on FAA in a long time. I LOVE this painting of your great-grandpa. He was quite a good looking suave man. His pose is terrific. :=) It is amazing what you can do with WATERCOLORS! aT FIRST I thought this was a photo. I will return to your site soon for more "feasting of my eyes..." Fondly, Anne
