Artist's Description
In the San Juan Islands, you'll find a lot of these little crabs under rocks on the beach. As a painting this crab looks a lot larger than he really is. The subject in this painting was found as a dried up hollow shell frozen in this pose.
About Cory Calantropio
I'm a mostly self-taught artist, currently residing in Humboldt County, CA. My works are mostly done in watercolor but vary in styles from photo-realism to abstract. Some of my sea life themed works are influenced by having spent 5 years living in the San Juan Islands, WA. I have not had a prolific, nor successful art career, but I envision that all changing in next couple years. I intend to use Fine Art America as the means to offer prints of my work. If you'd like to see a broader representation of my art, I invite you to look up the user name coryart on youtube and see the video "Some of my Watercolor Art over the years".
