I have always loved taking pictures from this perspective! These trees are close enough to make an interesting picture from this angle. Congratulations on your sale!

Your paintings are breath taking...so beautiful.

Artist's Description

This is among some of the local photographs I was able to capture in Humboldt County. In the center of this circle of large redwood trees is the stump of a much larger redwood. Notice how there are very few branches on any of these trees that grow on the inside. They were likely prevented by the old tree that used to be there. This allows you to see clear through to the top, where only at the top do the branches grow across.

About Cory Calantropio

Cory Calantropio

I'm a mostly self-taught artist, currently residing in Humboldt County, CA. My works are mostly done in watercolor but vary in styles from photo-realism to abstract. Some of my sea life themed works are influenced by having spent 5 years living in the San Juan Islands, WA. I have not had a prolific, nor successful art career, but I envision that all changing in next couple years. I intend to use Fine Art America as the means to offer prints of my work. If you'd like to see a broader representation of my art, I invite you to look up the user name coryart on youtube and see the video "Some of my Watercolor Art over the years".
