This is the fourth of my Van Gough Style Humboldt County paintings. The scene is of a well known coastal section of Trinidad. The rock in the water that looks like an old woman with saggy breasts in known as "Grandmother Rock". The Lupins, and the yellow flowers at the lower section of this painting actually do grow in that area of Trinidad. Each of the "dots" you see in this painting are a little larger then a tick tac. I was surprised how realistic the waves look given the impressionistic way they were painted.
I'm a mostly self-taught artist, currently residing in Humboldt County, CA. My works are mostly done in watercolor but vary in styles from photo-realism to abstract. Some of my sea life themed works are influenced by having spent 5 years living in the San Juan Islands, WA. I have not had a prolific, nor successful art career, but I envision that all changing in next couple years. I intend to use Fine Art America as the means to offer prints of my work.
