Artist's Description
This is the third of my Van Gough Style Humboldt County paintings. The scene is a VW Bug driving through a stretch of redwood forest known as Richardson Grove, a rare section of the 101 highway where you have to literally drive around large old growth redwoods. The license plate "R GROVE" stands for "Richardson's Grove" and also "Our Grove". Some of the old growth redwood trees in this awesome section of 101 highway are in danger of being cut down by Caltrans to make room for large trucks.
About Cory Calantropio
I'm a mostly self-taught artist, currently residing in Humboldt County, CA. My works are mostly done in watercolor but vary in styles from photo-realism to abstract. Some of my sea life themed works are influenced by having spent 5 years living in the San Juan Islands, WA. I have not had a prolific, nor successful art career, but I envision that all changing in next couple years. I intend to use Fine Art America as the means to offer prints of my work.
